I bought a Kindle 3 in Canada and was surprised to find that some books are not available for download in Canada. Specifically I was trying to buy 2 fiction books that were not available in Canada. After looking online for a way to download more books than those only available on the Kindle Canada store I found a few solutions and ideas that work:
1. In your online Amazon account you can add a US address to your “Manage Your Kindle” profile and select to use it. That will make Amazon treat you like a US buyer and will enable US downloads immediately.
2. There are ways of purchasing books from other stores like the barnes and noble, Sony or Kobo book stores, and loading them on your Kindle Canada. One of the methods is a bit technical and involves circumventing Adobe’s ADEPT DRM system for EPUB files using software and programming tools. This is a bit too technical and perhaps illegal to attempt and so method 1 is a much easier option.
